Taxis
Many visitors find that taxis are one of the most convenient modes of transportation in Bermuda. All taxis are outfitted with meters, and a rate card must be displayed. By law, the rates are fixed. The base fare is valid for one to four passengers; taxis carrying five or six passengers charge a different rate. Fares begin at $6.40 for the first mile and $2.20 for each subsequent mile. Rates are slightly higher, $8 and $2.80, from midnight to 6 a.m. and on Sundays and public holidays. Taxi drivers displaying Tour Guide flags are qualified tour guides. Rates start at about $36 per hour for up to four passengers.
